Simulating ocean currents and how particles and chemicals are spreading through the water column

Our oceanographers are developing digital twins of oceanic and coastal areas, and new tools to understand spreading of particles and chemicals.

We apply the ocean model FVCOM and work interdisciplinarily with colleagues in ecology, biodiversity, and ecotoxicology.

We map the extent and effects of different types of emissions, model the spatial distribution of plankton, and analyze the effects of climate change on glacier systems in Antarctica.
