Arctic Phi-Lab er et nyetablert innovasjonssenter som har som mål å utvikle nyskapende teknologi innen jordobservasjon, med fokus på arktiske problemstillinger. Bak etableringen står hele jordobersvasjonsmiljøet i Tromsø med KSAT-Kongsberg Satellite Services, NORCE, UiT Norges arktiske universitet, Norinnova og Akvaplan-niva i spissen.

Arctic Phi-Lab har nå publisert sin første av flere kommende utlysninger. Det er planlagt to årlige utlysninger de neste 4 årene.

Vi oppfordrer alle som vurderer å søke, om å tidlig ta kontakt med Arctic Phi-Lab-teamet for veiledning om hvordan du og ditt team rigge en søknad. Teamet bistår gjerne for å se hvordan de ulike tilbudene som finnes kan passe med akkurat ditt prosjekt.

Arctic Phi-Lab kan i lag med idehaveren jobbe frem prosjektskisser, tilby eksperthjelp og i tillegg dele ut såkornmidler til gode initiativ.

Du kan få:
• Såkornsmidler i størrelsesorden 200.000 til 500.0000 Euro per prosjekt
• Tilgang til og bruk av Phi-Lab-laboratorier
• Utstyr og arbeidsplass
• Teknisk støtte
• Støtte til forretningsutvikling
• Juridisk/IPR-rådgivning

Denne første utlysningen er ganske vid, og vi ser etter smarte ideer og konsepter som kan være nyttige for folk med aktiviteter eller interesser i Arktis og som benytter en form for jordobservasjoner. Prosjektene kan omfatte ulike bransjer, som f.eks fiskeri, havbruk, vindkraft, shipping, infrastruktur, olje og gass eller sikkerhet og beredskap.

Områder som dekkes av denne utlysningen kan være innen, men er ikke nødvendigvis begrenset til:
• Havis, inkludert isfjell
• Havtilstand og forhold
• Snø- og isforhold
• Sikkerhet og beredskap
• Landbaserte applikasjoner
• Miljøovervåking

The Arctic Phi-Lab is a newly established innovation center aimed at developing cutting-edge technology in the field of Earth observation, with a focus on Arctic challenges. The innovation center is supported by the entire Earth observation community in Tromsø, led by KSAT-Kongsberg Satellite Services, NORCE, UiT – The Arctic University of Norway, Norinnova, and Akvaplan-niva.

The Phi-Lab opened on October 1st this year and now has its first of several upcoming calls for proposals. Two calls are planned annually for the next four years.

We encourage anyone considering applying to contact the Arctic Phi-Lab team early on for guidance on how you and your team can structure a successful application. The team is happy to assist in exploring how various available resources might align with your specific project. Together with the idea owner, Arctic Phi-Lab can help develop project outlines, offer expert assistance, and also provide seed funding for promising initiatives.

The Arctic Phi-Lab offers a comprehensive package of support to research teams selected. We are excited to offer:

• Innovation seed funds per project ranges from € 200k up to € 500k
• Access to and use of Phi-Lab laboratories
• Equipment and workspace
• Technical support
• Business coaching
• Legal/IPR advice

This first call has a quite open interest sphere and seeks innovative proposals beneficial for the space industry and for user groups with presence and/or interests in the Arctic. This also includes shipping, fisheries, aquaculture, offshore oil and gas, wind farming, deep water mining, infrastructure and/or safety and security.

Themes and technologies to be covered by this call include, but is not necessarily limited to:

• Sea ice, including ice bergs
• Ocean state and conditions
• Snow and ice conditions
• Safety and security
• Terrestrial applications
• Environmental monitoring
